My school sent me to
San Antonio for a school conference. Grace got to come with because Grandma also came to babysit. It was Grace's first airplane traveling experience. She did great!

Here we are about ready to leave (so we thought) for the first flight. However, Chicago was having some storms, and so wouldn't let us come at the scheduled time.

Which meant that when we did finally get to Chicago, we missed our connecting flight to
San Antonio. So we had to wait and hopefully get on the next one. We were "Standby" number 2 and 3. Grace had lots of time to play in the airport - good entertainment - water bottles.

Lots of time...not only to play, but also to sleep. We actually were trying to keep her awake so she would sleep on the plane, but she was so tired. And, she ended up sleeping most of the flight also. She was SO good!

By the way, we did make it onto the next flight - and even got to sit together.
More cheap entertainment - the safety instructions on the airplane. Maybe she will be a future flight attendant, because she was sure studying those instructions.

Just being goofy on the plane.

When we got to
San Antonio, I asked the captain if I could take his picture with Grace. He stood up, and had Grace and I sit in his seat. It was pretty cool. Too cool for us to get a good picture. There are so many buttons and lights, it kind of made me nervous. So maybe she's planing on being a future pilot, she couldn't get enough of all the things to touch!

Here is the
Captain with us outside the plane. Grace just wanted to get out and be free - but I was thinking ... "
mmm, wouldn't this make a cute scrapbook page." My poor daughter.
