Colorado Springs! You don't even know what hit you!

On our way out to Colorado Springs for a quick family visit, we stopped by Elm Creek, NE to see the US Wild Horse and Burro Reserve. They were closed, so we just saw the facilities from the road. It was neat to see, but we all thought there would maybe be more horses there. We spent Wednesday night at North Platte, NE. It's home to Buffalo Bill's ranch. We are sitting on one of his saddles (I think :) ).

When we got to the Garden of the Gods, Kirk, Grace, and I climbed up a rock pile and set the timer to take our picture. It was a lot of fun.

Then we all went up a path to the Siamese Twins. Supposedly on a clear day (which we definitely did not have) you can see Pikes Peak through this hole in the rocks we are sitting in.

We were driving slow enough that we thought we would let Grace out of her seat to enjoy the view as well. She did so good traveling!

Seven Falls is another destination that we traveled to in Colorado. We climbed a hole bunch of steps, then went on a mile hike after that. It was a lot of fun - but so exhausting!

Dad, Grandpa, and I traded off with Grace - she was happy in the backpack as long as we were moving!

Since Grandma and Grandpa were with us, we got lots of fun family pictures!

Here was one of the views from the top of Pikes Peak. On Saturday morning it was finely clear enough to travel up it. It was awesome! On the way up a bag of popcorn in the van burst - it was so funny once we figured out that it wasn't a tire or anything else bad. It was 66 degrees at the bottom and 41 degrees at the top - brrrrr! Pikes Peak is 14,110 feet up.
