A small group of us Iowans traveled to Meeteetse, Wyoming to help Cowboys with a Mission put on a Rodeo Bible Camp. We have known Kevin and Sheri Cooley - leaders of CWAM, for a little over a year now, and were supper excited to be able to help out at there first RBC. Kim, Brenna, Levi, my dad, Kirk, and myself all went to help out. And Katrina (Brenna's sister-in-law) went to be a camper. The eight of us left home on Saturday to start our trip. Sunday evening we drove into the CWAM base with this awesome welcome. Two of these are the Cooley girls, and the other two are friends. It was so cute!

The girls started swimming lessons this week. So far so good. We were earlier enough the first day that they got to place for a few minutes at the park. That's always a good start :). Grace's suit in this picture is a hand-me-down from Zoey... thanks Amy! Sophia's suit was a birthday present from Becky and family... thanks Beck!
Elijah was not up for his picture being taken. Probably because Superman does not want to be able to be identified.

We also had a t-ball game Tuesday night. Grace went 1/3 hits off the pitch. She's improving, and seems to enjoy it.
Sophia is excited for the day when she gets to be on a "real" t-ball team :).
All three like to run the bases after the field clears. The girls go all the way around, but Elijah usually heads for home after 2nd base. :)
Swimming lessons day 3 - Elijah was now ready for his picture to be taken.
Red light, green light - no kicks, big kicks. My girls are still not wild about getting splashed or getting their heads wet. But, they are making progress.
Back to Rodeo Bible Camp. Here are some action shots from the campers.
Above is Amanda Cooley riding a steer during the actual Rodeo. If you look close you can see Levi and my dad watching from the shoots. This was Amanda's first go at steer riding.
Above is a bronc rider, I'm not quite sure who it its. Below is a little boy named Bryce riding a steer. Behind him you can see his instructor, Kanin Asay watching. Kanin is an amazing bullrider, and an awesome follower of Jesus.
Above is my dad (Frank) giving high fives to Katrina as she finished up the barrels during the rodeo. Katrina did a good job, and my dad is an amazing encourager to anyone who is around him. Plus his "farmer" skills were very useful for the camp as well.
Below is a picture of me and my hubby on the night before we leave. I'm so glad we remember to get a good picture with the mountains in the back ground.
Above - Kirk hoped on the base horse Hank for a sort ride around the ranch.
Below - Levi, Kim, Brenna, and Katrina hanging out in the kitchen. Kim was the "head cook", and Brenna spent a lot of hours in the kitchen as well.

Below - I saddled up Hank to help bring up the steers so that they could be used for the week. This is the only chance I had to ride a horse, but it was so fun to help. After the steers were pinned up, we took a few minutes to ride around the arena.
Above - Kirk thought it was funny to take my picture as I was videoing the rodeo. This was one of my main jobs. This and helping in the kitchen and serving the meals. I'm not sure if you can tell by the picture, but I was a crying mess - watching those kids in the rodeo... I was so stinking proud of them! :) At times my video was pretty terrible because I couldn't even see the screen I was tearing up so much.
Below - Sklyer on a bronc. He did both broncs and bulls. Really nice kid.
We had worship every morning, noon, and evening. Kirk helped several times. He is on the end in the red shirt. There was a lot of good messages through out the week, good worship, and God was definitely working on the hearts of many kids and adults at the camp. It was a great week!
