Sophia and Grace had their Open House/Ice Cream Social for the start of school on Monday night. Sophia was so excited about everything. It was adorable! Here she is pointing out her cubbie.
There was so much to look at she couldn't keep her eye on the camera :).

Grace is lucky enough to have a student teacher helping out in her room. We got to meet her on Open House night. Here is Grace with the student teacher Mrs. Danielson.
And here is Grace with her teacher, Mrs. Hunter. As a co-worker of hers, I know how amazing she is, so we are supper excited for the positive year that Grace is going to have!
And a definite perk of the Open House (and probably the reason Omar wanted to join us) ... the ICE CREAM! You should zoom into this picture and look at how cute Elijah is being. He was kind of a little pistol all evening, but of course looks like an angel on camera.

Her poster this year was much more detailed (aka busy!). In case you cannot read it - last year she wanted to be an Astronaut. This year she said a Vet (and drew a vet clinic with many animals, a parking lot attached with a sidewalk to the clinic). Or a Scientist (a bug scientist to be exact - she drew lots of bugs and I think at the time is a little self portrait of a scientist).
Over all, she looks quite a bit the same - less teeth, new glasses... but I think the rest is the same :). She is lovely.
She gets on the bus at the high school around 8:10 and it takes her right to Wellman Elementary. A pretty good system. On Monday mornings she will walk since I have a meeting and cannot supervise her.
Her report of the first day was great. The first high light was lunch, lol, I guess it was pretty amazing after a summer of mom's plain jane cooking. "We had pizza, AND a salad, AND apple sauce, AND a cookie, AND chocolate milk!"
Sophia starts pre-school on Thursday. Hopefully I'll have a few pictures from her special day as well.
