Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Kirk, the kids, and I got back from our long week's Christmas celebration in northwest Iowa last night. So happy to celebrate the real reason for Christmas with my family. My mom read the Christmas story, and our family sat around before the craziness of gift opening and sang Christmas songs. Thank you Jesus for the best gift ever! And thank you Jesus for a great family to celebrate with.
While we waiting for everyone to join us at Grandma and Grandpa's some of us went sledding!
Haley, Torren, Ethan, Grace, Matt, Elijah, and Sophia (Scott, Grandpa, and I joined as well).
Grace and Sophia sharing a sled!Grace and Haley sharing a sled (I'm pretty sure Grace can't see anything with her hair and hat over her eyes). :)
Ethan loved the snow!
So did Torren!
Love this picture of Matt, Haley, and Torren!
Grandma Jenny and her 9 grandkids.
Grandma and Grandpa with the grand-kids.
Grandpa and Elijah cheesing! (Sorry it is a little blurry, to cute to not post though).
Addison and Grace
I love my girls.
Opening the stockings - so much fun.
Everybody got slippers for Christmas. Grace and Sophia call them "Grandpa slippers". They were so excited!
Big and Little Grandpa slippers (sz 9 (little kid 9) and sz 16)
Then after a great meal at Grandma Jenny's and Grandpa Frank's we head to Sioux City for celebrating Christmas with the Hansen's.
Elijah was happy to give Grandma Puttmann a Merry Christmas hug!
Sophia helped a few people open presents. Here she is helping Alan. She about whacked him with her arm as she was unwrapping, but he appreciated the help and even gave her a few smiles.
She had to help Lori as well.
Great Grandma Hansen playing with a rat puppet that Alan got from Linda. Such a happy picture of her.
Part of my present from Lori - I may or may not have rigged the name drawing so that she would get my name. It's always good!
The Hansen siblings (the ones that were present at Christmas).
Back to Grandma Jenny's and Grandpa Frank's for a few days of relaxation. Elijah and Kane loving on their Grandma.
We needed the kids to have a rest :). Here are the "big" kids laid down to watch a movie shortly after lunch.
Then back to Grandma and Grandpa Puttmann's for some more Christmas celebrating.
Toe socks.
Grace loving on Great Grandma Hansen.
And Grace loving on Grandma and Grandpa Puttmann.Sophia giving hugs also.

Sophia with Great Grandma Hansen.
Elijah and Paul playing with a light.
Cute Elijah. He was playing catch with Great Grandma Hansen. Catching and throwing the ball with his feet instead of his hands. Grandma called him a seal.
Fur real pets - Sophia, Grace, and Johanna.
Elijah was finally getting into the present opening.
And here is why... he loves his tractor!
The girls got light up pillows - they are cool!
And color your own umbrella.
And sparkle boots - Grace's are gold and Sophia's are black.
Grandpa reading to some grandkids.
Sophia saying thank you for her umbrella.
Omar enjoyed Christmas as well!
Grace saying thank you to Great Grandma.
And finally we head home. The van was so packed! The two bean bag chair road between the girls. So this was the result. :)
And finally home in their own bed. Grace using her light up pillow already :).
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!
